Use it as a practice session: read each question, pause, formulate your answer using the frameworks from this course, then read the evaluation criteria. This is your final exam — if you can answer all 8 questions confidently, you are ready.
Interview Structure: The 45-Minute Behavioral Round
Most behavioral rounds follow this structure:
• Opening (5 min): "Tell me about yourself" + small talk
• Core behavioral questions (30 min): 4-6 STAR-format questions
• Closing (5-10 min): "Do you have any questions for me?"
Mock Interview: 8 Questions with Scoring Rubrics
Question 1: The Opening
"Tell me about yourself."
Scoring:
• ✅ Uses Present-Past-Future framework (90 seconds)
• ✅ Mentions quantified impact
• ✅ Connects to THIS role and company
• ❌ Rambles over 2 minutes
• ❌ Reads resume chronologically
Question 2: Technical Leadership
"Tell me about a time you had to make a technical decision that impacted multiple teams."
What they evaluate: Decision-making process, stakeholder communication, trade-off analysis, outcome quantification
Question 3: Conflict Resolution
"Describe a disagreement you had with a colleague. How did you handle it?"
What they evaluate: Emotional intelligence, ability to separate ideas from people, commitment to resolution over winning
Question 4: Failure & Learning
"Tell me about a project that failed or didn''t meet expectations. What happened?"
What they evaluate: Intellectual honesty, accountability (not blaming others), concrete lessons learned, changes made
Question 5: Deadline Pressure
"You have a feature due in 2 weeks but your estimate is 6 weeks. What do you do?"
What they evaluate: Scope negotiation, stakeholder management, risk assessment, planning ability
